The TASCAM Tape Collection got my attention when it was announced, so I’m delighted to have the chance to check it out. Personally, I like to take each on individual merit some are terrible, some are good, and now and then, some are remarkably good. Some purists will tell you it sounds awful before they even hear it. Recreating the sound of vintage hardware in plugin form can be a thankless task at times.
